Supporting Your Loved One Abroad

Supporting Your Child Abroad

Sending your loved one off to a new country, or even a new state, can be a hard decision to make and a challenging experience to go through (for everyone involved). As a student, parent, guardian, or as any loved one, you want to look out for their best interests and safety. You also want to support them through the important and impactful decisions they are making. Throughout this process and more, you can count on the GOCI office to help both our students and their supporting loved ones to achieve their respective goals and ensure a mutually beneficial experience that is safe, productive, and enriching.

So why should you support your loved one to study off-campus? What are some common fears and concerns students and loved ones have about studying off-campus? What can be done about these concerns? The resources below provide answers to these questions and also provide additional resources that you might find helpful.
